poem by Michael Sauls
Long ago in a wooded glen
the trolls did dance in mortal sin
beneath full moon in frenzied dance
another mortal they would entrance
and to their rock him they would bring
to hear the death song he would sing
And then one day a great knight came
to find the trolls and end their reign
he fought the trolls from dusk to dawn
until the battle he had won
then closed his eyes in eternal sleep
that wooded glen it would him keep
and still in that wooded glen
where once the trolls did dance in sin
there stands troll rock
waiting in the silence
(pause)
that someday trolls might dance again
